Component not showing up in cam tab

I have imported a step file into a new document. I'm trying to insert the model into a cam tab for tool path creation. When I insert it into the cam tab there is no visible model but the component tree shows it's there. Is there something I need to do to the model before it can be inserted into the cam tab?
