Problems with extrude after modyfing a sketch

Hi everyone,
I ran across a problem with a 3D part when I tried to modify its original sketch. Here is the original part:
I had to modify the left line (from 20 to 27.5mm) of one of the sketch:
But, I don't know why (the tutorial I was following didn't get this issue) I ended up with this new part:
The modified part was supposed to be like the original one just a bit longer.
Also, the images above show a couple of alerts that can help identify the source of the problem.

You're right! I'll do it next time.
Anyway, I fixed the problem eventually. I had to extend downwards the sketch shown in the last image. I don't know why the tutorial didn't mention it.
