Question regarding fillet tool

I have a very basic part that is an extruded profile, then a 90 degree extruded cut. This image shows the extrude sketch (sketch on right) and the cut sketch:(90 degree sketch on left:
The first fillet (topmost corner edge) worked as expected, but the second fillet is setting one of edges not where I would like it to be:
I have been unable to figure out how to move that left vertex down to mirror the right bottom vertex.
Using a partial fillet I'm able to move the left point, but then I loose the top transition and end up with an unwanted overhang
Here is the geometry I am trying to model:
this feels like it should be straightforward and I'm sure I"m misunderstanding something or have the wrong approach, any pointers in where that is would be much appreciated!

There are quite a few ways to do this, so the best way will depend on the workflow that you prefer.
Here is one way to do it by simply using the Chamfer feature.
