Destribute object around box profile aligned to faces

Good day, how can I distribute white long box around grey box aligned to it faces using center axis of the grey box? Circular pattern could work, but can't figure out how to select Axis of the pattern as a middle axis of the grey box.

Do not want to create another thread, maybe you can guide me here: if I want to trim that box around with curved profile, how can I do it? It's basicaly the same as Revolve do, but again it is working in circle manner, but I need to follow the surface of the box, so Revolve will cut box with profile but follow the flat surface of the box, after 90 degr angle, another flat surface and so on up to the end around.

Yeah, if I understand your goal correctly, a sweep will do it.
