'Lock/Follow Position to' - Only available in certain assembly configurations

Could somebody shed some light or ideas on why an Assembly, with multiple configurations, with two Named Position options, would only give me the 'Lock/Follow Position to' options when inserted into another assembly under one of the configurations?
Config A → allows 'lock/follow position to' the 2 named positions i've defined
Config B → 75% same entities & joints, no 'lock/follow position to' option available
