Help with threads

Hello, I am trying to model a stud to test on my car. I want the stud to be 12x1.75mm, but I cant get the threads to start and end at the correct space.

I'm not sure what this means exactly, but you can use the split tool to divide your part along its length — for example:

You could also split the curve into multiple curves before sweeping the thread profile in order to maintain the profile at the curve termination points. I hope that helps you think about how to move forward.
