how to resolve this "TypeError"?

I am using onshape_robotics_toolkit library :{https://github.com/neurobionics/onshape-robotics-toolkit}
I am trying to replicate their example, but I am encountering this issue:
client.set_variables(did = doc.did,wid= doc.wid,eid = elements["variables"].id, variables = variables) and
"TypeError: Object of type Variable is not JSON serializable"
how to fix this?
