Slider Mate

Does any of you get a slider mate with limits to work in the expected direction ever on first try? I don't seem to. It appears that every time I use a slider mate, I have to reverse the two mate connectors involved. Today; I made about a few dozen, and none of them was in the right direction at all. I have come to a point where I reverse them involved MCs by default immediately while creating the mate, before even trying. I have learned I'll have do it anyway, only later.
If I could have my way, I'd reverse the default slider mate logic in the tool itself.
Ho do you all deal with this?
