Classes vs Teams

Been using Onshape for years now but this is the first time I am trying Classes vs using Teams for my students to create and save their work.

I have a few questions please:

  • When setting up classes and then creating assignments, how do i create a copy of the same document for myself so that I can teach it to them in the class? Should I be creating my document first and then somehow copying this to be uploaded as the assignment file or do I still have to create a new file for myself that mirrors the shared template?
  • I have some students who have clicked 'submit' at the end of a first lesson using this new system, how do I 'un-submit' this work to allow them to continue to work in the file?
  • Do I still need to load the students in vias a csv file as 'users' or does adding them via 'csv' to the class list automatically invite them to the school's enterprise area?
  • Is there ever going to be a CFD add on for us as schools that is included in the enterprise option?

Thanks all

    • I believe you are looking for assignment submission option 2, "Students begin with copy of selected document." That way, you can have a document in your accoutn like "Assignment Starter Template." You attach it to an assignment using submission option 2. When students click "Start Assignment" Onshape will make a copy of that document named "Student Name_Assignment Starter Template" and share it with you. All automatically. Pretty handy.
    • Students can submit and re-submit all day until you close the assignment. And you can always re-open an assignment if you need to allow additional submissions.
    • Adding students to a class automatically adds them to your Enterprise.
    • Right now, no version of Onshape includes CFD. But all Enterprise and Educator Plans include static linear FEA and modal analysis.
