Quirky(?) UI View Cube Zoom & 3D Connexion SpaceMouse Behavior

OnShape newbie here, with thousands of CAD hours elsewhere, and couple of UI questions that seem quirky to me, but may have simple answers.

• Firstly, invariably when selecting an orthogonal (or any) view on the view cube, OnShape does a zoom to fit. Is there any way to maintain the current zoom level, by tweaking a setting or holding Ctrl + Shft + Alt (swear I tried them all) or perhaps a third-party add-in?

• Secondly, I use a 3DConnexion SpaceMouse, and all is good except left-right panning. Updated the driver to latest, verified hardware performance with the manufacturer's app (all good), tweaked 3D Connexion advanced settings, and tried a different browser (Chrome) over what I prefer (Vivaldi) but the OnShape result is equivalent: left-right panning seems dead, everything else works just fine.

Have workaround, namely pressing main mouse scroll wheel and drag-panning, but is not ideal.

Anyone else experience this? Or even better know of a solution?

Thanks in advance!
