Another knurling Question

I am trying to knurl the outer surface of an octogon container from the top edge down to the chamfer. It only lets me select 2 edges but the octogon is set up as 8 dirrerent square/rectangle surfaces automatically. How can I make this happen?

If this is for traditional manufacture, you don't. There is a cosmetic knurl feature script which might do the job.
If it's for 3D print them a public copy of your document would help the clever people here help you.
