Gear relation usage

Hi, gents. I am trying to have two gears working together using the Gear Relation feature, but I cannot have either of them selected. Am I missing something?

    Select the Revolute 1 and Revolute 2 from the left.

    Thanks a lot. I was selecting the parts instead of the mates
