Is there a way to have cutouts on a Sheet Metal part be a recess instead of a through hole?
This is a strange application but for a project I'm looking at getting sheet metal cut on a router to be bent, but it has shallow recesses for plates to be located and welded on afterwards. I have played around with the finish sheet metal model tool, however these changes don't propagate to the drawing as they were after the "finish". As I need to give these to a machinist what would be the best way to go about this? Is there a way to incorporate these changes or is it easiest to do some clever modifications in a drawing? Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated

Look into "sheet metal form", you will likely need to create your own, there are tutorials floating around.

If you're trying to skip the sheet metal form step, you could use a little bit of Black Market Boolean to get the results you're looking for. But you didn't hear it from me.
