Would like to import 3D and point dxf files

jaschaaajaschaaa Member Posts: 21 PRO
I am trying to model a propeller blade. I use geometry generated in other software (Octave). As an exchange format I use dxf. Importing 2D lines works, but points and 3D geometry does not seem to work (I get errors importing the files). I would like to work with radial blade section profiles.

My current workaround is to use 2D projections of the 3D data. Then I sketch it, extrude and create an intersection with a cylinder to get my radial section back. It is quite a labour-intensive process.

Did I do something wrong? If not, can you consider adding the 3D and point functionality?

In the mean time, do you have hints on how to get it done more efficiently with the current capabilities of Onshape?

Thanks!
