How does OS deal with topological errors in the imported geometry?

I imported a STP file that I knew had topological errors when opened in SW and did not get any warning from OS. After that I exported it to SW and I found more errors than in the original file. I am not saying that this is OS's fault, but I would like to know how is the software dealing with topological errors in the imported files.

We don't currently do any error checking or repairs on import, but we understand the importance of such a tool. Please create a ticket for this with support via the feedback tool, so that we can track the interest and prioritize accordingly.
