Importing Solidwork Files Assembly issue

allen_stewartallen_stewart Member Posts: 32
Hello All,

I uploaded the solid work file and it is displayed in my parts studio.  When I try to insert it into my assembly the part isn't displayed.   I noticed that the Solidworks part is comprised of a bunch of surfaces.  Is there any way to convert the surfaces to a solid part?  Thank you

Workaround:- Surfaces are not yet supported in assemblies. Perform a thicken on the surface to get a part will definitely work for you.

Flow up question, when I thicken all the surfaces it generates new parts.  I have over 120 parts.  Is there a quick way to group them together?  I would like to move the object as a whole in the assembly.

If the solids are intersecting you can use the Boolean tool and Union them together to create a single part.

@ allen_stewart , If you don't want to make them as single part,Insert entire part studio to an assembly tab and apply group constrain as below,
