Modifying entities in a Drawing

Is is possible to modify entities in a drawing? I have a multipart model that I want to bring into a drawing but only want to dimension one of the parts, but need some of the other geometry for reference purposes. Can I change the entities that I am not dimensioning into phantom lines or something similar? Can I delete or hide some of the entities so the don't show up in the drawing? In the attached drawing I only want 2 or 3 views of the angle block, but need the OD of the circle for dimensional reference.
