After importing STL, is there a way to compute it back to a solid?

Hi guys, most other CADs have an option to make solids out of imported surface geometry I was wondering if OS has/will have anything like that. Very intricate models are very difficult to replicate after being imported in OS so the best option would be to convert them to solids inside OS so that they can be worked on as with any other OS solid.

Thanks.

There are app store products that do what you're asking, but for now it's not built into OS. However, if it's a simple enough part, you can reference points from the imported STL to create geometry.

The curve fitting sounds hard, but it's doable.  I hope someone is working on this though.
