How to transfer holes

CristalejaCristaleja Member Posts: 9
Since OnShape do not allow the creation of any type of sketches on an Assembly, I was wonderinng if anyone have a good idea on how to transfer holes to a part from assembly components?

Please take a look at the drawing attached and let me know how is this being done inside OnShape?

Thanks

Unlike traditional CAD, in Onshape usually it is best to create all of the parts in context in a part studio and then derive them into an assembly later to check the dynamic movement of the parts. This would allow you to create entirely parametric models. In this case, you could derive both parts into a part studio and transform them to location with mate connectors. Once located, you could then perform the necessary operations on the plate to create the holes.

    Tim:

The Slide is a SAT model imported from McMaster. How would you import it into a Part Studio file? Can this be done?

Please don't answer that question, never mind,  I re-read your post and figured it out. Thanks
