What are the reasons creating a thread could fail?

I tried creating a thread for a screw using a few tutorials. One suggested using any plane and making a triangle to sweep cut from a cylinder. That one didn't work. [The problem just said it was something related to the sketch.] Another tutorial suggested using a point curve plane. That method created part of the thread, but errored out on half the triangle sketch. I modified the sketch, and it was back to not working with sweep at all.

viru Member, Developers Posts: 619 ✭✭✭✭@joshua_miklos, There may be chances that this failure occuring due to triangle intersected with threaded path (Helix). Therefore you need to reduce number of turns or triangle size (Sweep profile) or you can increase pitch of helix.
