Why can't I remove the parts on particular places?

in Using Onshape
On this drawing I was trying to remove the bits highlighted in yellow by 'extrude'. But when I clicked on OK it only removed it on the outer sphere. Why is on the inner sphere the bits are not removed? Can someone please tell me how I can fix this problem?

    @taichi_yamaguchi in the extrude dialogue, there is a section called "Merge scope." You must choose which parts you want to remove that material from. Alternatively, you can check a box to merge with all parts.
