How to draw a perpenducalar line on a cylindrical face

Hello,
i am trying to draw a (construction) line on a cylindrical face perpendicular to the top/bottom faces. My aim is to set a marker for assemblies later. I worked with a radial face so the edge of the face ended on the cylindrical face. Since the radial faces are not part of main part my perpendicular line disappears when importing into an assembly?
What am i missing?
regards
Wolfgang
