How to prevent breaking down in BOM

Hi everyone,
I am using an assembly of a nema 17 stepper motor, which is in a document, in an assembly (D-Bot core XY) in another document.
I would like to create a bom of my D-Bot assembly, in which my nema 17 would appear like "Nema 17".
One solution would be to make a 1st level only BOM of my final assembly, but I would then have to make a bom for each sub assembly, and this would be quite long. So is there a way to prevent openBom (or another BOM app) to breakdown 1 particular assembly in a part BOM.

you can selection an option "Single level BOM" in openBoM. It will do a BOM for one level (not blowing thru assemblies an sub assys).
