To make a helix, you need a cylinder face to select.

The simplist way is to extrude your circle as a "surface" to the height of your helix.

When you say "roll tape" I imagine a spiral instead of a helix. OnShape doesn't have a spiral tool yet, but someone may have a featurescript that makes spirals.

You could create a conical surface, create a helix, then afterwards create a sketch and "use"
    the helix.

Sneaky way to create a spiral, like it!

    (3) Use/Project helix onto new shetch.

@eric_mendez336 The example document above now has some "tape" with the addition of the sweep of a line to make a surface and then a thicken of the surface.  (This seemed more robust than a solid sweep of a rectangle.)

    Ah a cone :)

He said conical surface.. so i thought he was showcasing the new conic sketch command. lol

Thanks @owen_sparks for clearing that up

Its nice to know helix can be wrapped around more than just cylinders. Good job OS
