I'm planning to get a X-carve and I will love to use Onshape for modeling projects. Is there a good option to use the models for G-code ? I saw a lot off top of the line CAM partner for Onshape, but first how that will work with the software and second is there anything available more simple for home use ? Thanks for the help ! Cheers !

I actually own a Shapeoko2 which is the predecessor for X Carve. Today I have found MeshCAM works very well. Its simple and is reasonably priced.... I have cut a lot of 3 axis parts using Onshape to MechCAM to Shapeoko... Plastic, Wood, and Aluminum.
Easel3D is included with your machine. It works well. But it is a 2D oriented product. It really only works with 2D SVG. So if you wanted to use that, you can export a DXF profile from Onshape, and then use a online converter to convert the DXF to SVG.

The Vectric software is quite good if you don't need production level toolpathing! Heck, if you need production level 2D machining, it's hard to beat Cut 2D 1.5
