Tables and referencing on a drawing

I have a table showing multiple "details" for a single dimension to make a part used for multiple applications. I want to reference the dimension on the part with a letter and not the actual dimension on the feature. How can I replace the actual measurement with just a letter to reference the dimension on the table? I also don't like that I can't use a note with leader unless I attach it to an edge. I don't really like the balloon that I used either.
