michał_1 Member, Developers Posts: 214 ✭✭✭Few users are active on a forum. Most of the active ones are doing mainly MCAD, so it's either not meant to be shared or just too generic in its appearance.
Still, I think we can keep this thread alive.
I've shown that already in another thread:

michael_stalls Member Posts: 59 PROThis is model of a Miles Hawk/ Falcon Wing. A all wood 1930's British Light aircraft. The plan is to draw up the model based on drawings and measurements taken from one of the few that are in existence that we have access to.

A tilting velomobile, front wheel drive, generator and motor made by Bike2 Drive Systems.
Back wheels have a tilting divice for better road holding.
Frame and body soon to follow.
Drawing's of bicycle part's are difficult to find, so there's a lot of work.
Disigner's with good idea's for a body are welcom to join.

bryan_lagrange Member, User Group Leader Posts: 825 ✭✭✭✭✭Here is an Onshape project I recently did. It's a pen/pencil/marker holder for my desk. The individual parts have slots and tabs to connect to each other. I put a 3/8-16 thread profile on the tab so I could screw the assembly together with hex nuts. The parts were laser cut out of 12GA stainless steel.

chrisjh777 Member Posts: 207 ✭✭✭✭I wanted to buy one of these, but they appear to available only in USA. Postage to Australia from USA is prohibitive. Can't wait until Amazon sets up in Australia, where I may have access to USA goods at reasonable prices.
So, once again, I designed and made my own. The probe tip arrived from eBay today ($8 AUD for qty 3 delivered from China).
Here is my effort:

The dial indicator model I downloaded from Grabcad.
All models and drawings are included for any one wanting to make their own.

So I am creating components to display at our booth at an industry trade show we are attending in a couple months. I designed a letter opener to display some of the intricate cutting our CO2 laser can do. I wanted to show details such as a thread profile cut on a part ( I did the same thing on a previous project I posted). I call it Mez-Calibur (Mez for Mezco Fabrication) The blade does not have an edge yet. I will add that after the show (safety reasons). I guess I have been watching too much Game of Thrones and Forged in Fire. Once I put an edge on the blade.....It will cut.....envelopes

Sunkmail Member Posts: 20 ✭✭✭It's not super fancy, But i'm not a power user by any means ....
Doing a small addition to our kitchen - Adding storage and a small counter area to a currently bare wall.
(The Toe Kick is only grey to add some contrast, it will be the same brown as the rest in real life)
The model was mostly an excuse to draw something, but it did have a couple of practical applications:- The first Version of the 'wall' was made to give an accurate drawing to the cabinet consultant we used. (The existing cabinets are a HomeDepot exclusive and we wanted to match.) Particularly, the location of the cutout in the wall, as It's actually an electrical breaker panel that cannot be moved or covered - Everything had to be designed around it.
- To show the wife, so I can get her approval before spending any money, and make sure we agree on the design/layout. (Probably the most important reason.)
- I'll need to install a couple of new Outlets, one for the microwave and one for the counter. I wanted to know where to put them before actually having the cabinets in the way. (It's not for exact locations, as I didn't measure where the studs are, but it's good enough for figuring the height from the floor.)
- The Countertop will be a custom cut piece of Granite as close as we can find to our existing pattern. The model enabled me to make a simple drawing to send to some suppliers for initial quoting, as well as play with small changes, like how much of an overhang and how big is the corner radius going to be.
- A chance to play with some features and learn the program better. (The fanciest is the door/drawer fronts are all from a single design and made using a linear pattern utilizing a variable array for the different sizes. also playing around with some ICE and derived stuff.)
- I used this model to show a co-worker how easy it is to import and add online content (I got the Outlet models from GrabCad)
(Eventually I'll add some side shelves and a home for the fire extinguisher under the counter overhang, and probably a shelf or two on the wall next to/above the cutout. They will have to wait until I get all this finished first though.)
I'm sure it's not be the best way to come up with the final product, but I learned a lot.

michael_stalls Member Posts: 59 PROA bit more progress on the Hawk. The New(ish) Curve tools such as 3D fit spline Were a big help in doing the engine cowls and wing fillets. All of it was lofted from 2D profiles. I also attached a pdf of a 3view of the general Assy drawing. The software is Great!10

The bug is actually fixed, but the fix would not automatically show up in existing failing features (As for why and how - that is a topic for a blog article I keep intending to write). If you share your model with support I'll tweak it to pick up the fix as done here.

I would go with something more technical 'show off' nuts like the type that is used with sprockets or something like this:
