No edges on an extrusion and it says there is an issue with the sketch?

I was building a model on on-shape and i realized the grey shading ,that shows when you close a shape,slightly overlapped the outline of the shape i thought nothing of it and carried on, but when i went to extrude the shape it had no edges and did not regenerate properly. I'm very new to on-shape and 3d modeling in general and I'm pretty young in general, so sorry on my lack of technical terms and understanding. Any help would be appreciate any help.
