Hi. I'm new to sheetmetal work. Anybody have any way of splitting a flanged face? I need to remove a piece of the sheetmetal I have on my model.

I think your best bet is to make a sketch profile over the material you want to remove (using the sketch "use" command https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/sketch-tools-use.htm) and then do the cut with an Extrude-remove.

Here's my doc in case you can take a look: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/9fa4ca4ecb8219d4fd898cd6/w/2bdb01ebbe3371a8b83a5ee8/e/af3c771119f8f539b6c44771
One of the current limitations of our sheet metal system is that cuts must cut all the way through the bend. That requirement is a somewhat confusing, let me show you what I mean here:
My suggestion is to do something like this, so the cut destroys the whole bend at that location:

Hopefully this is an acceptable design choice for you, please let me know if this doesn't satisfy your requirements.
@lana may also have some ideas about what you can do here.
