Defining a point on a helix

I am drawing a part which has a helix and I want to be able to place holes at different locations along the helix. Suggestions?

There are many way of doing this - please post a link to a public document showing how far you have got and several people will jump in to show you how to get from where you are to where you want to go. If the desired end result is not obvious (remember, we have no idea what you're making), then please feel free to include annotations and hand sketches to help us.

This is the absolutely best way to get help - way better/faster than asking people to write essays

Thank you for commenting and helping.  This link http://cad.onshape.com/documents/41cce2e9d9c5ae8bfbf64c89/w/7ab45c4e4c5d6b85f553a032/e/6fa8662e7a0ca0f29737bf93 shows how far I am (not very).  I created a helix, I projected the helix on a plane at 30 degrees in order to intersect the plane with the projected helix.  The helix has a pitch diameter of 4.00 inches, I am trying to intersect (create a point) at any location along the helix at the 4.00 inch diameter.

Is this what you are after?  I constrained the construction line with tangent to projected helix curve & horizontal.  Then created 2 points coincident with both curve and construction line.  I used two to measure the pitch (could have just used the helix pitch).  Then linear pattern for balance of points.  I am sure there are more elegant ways but heh if it works...  https://cad.onshape.com/documents/13d7b5e0a6355bfdd13c6704/w/d271d05ba9a8b6e4701084f2/e/e89c134b3651e472153417f6
