Create lithophane on part

alan_hartalan_hart Member Posts: 2
Hi,
I'm creating a lamp, and on the hood (is that what you call it?) I want to make lithophane sides. Is there a way to create this?
My knowledge is still pretty limited with onshape, so please be gentle

I would create the lithophane here and then use meshmixer to manipulate the resulting stl to create the hood (lamp shade) that you want.

Unless I am missing the obvious, Onshape doesn't really lend well to manipulating/extruding images/imported models... unless of course, the image for your lithophane is fairly simple and you want to attempt to sketch/extrude on your part's face.
