I wish with OS you will find a way to eliminate the need to pick a plane or a planar surface to every new sketch. If I can add a new part to assembly just by clicking why not do the same with a new sketch. I am sure you can find a smart way to add the plane automatically when I pick a random point or, a non planar surface
