Is it possible to dimension after extruding a part?

Is any of this possible in OnShape?
?!?!? And yes this is a verbal hand waving. 1) you have to be in the measured dimension plane 2) Pierce constraint ( I need to look that up) 3) Use or interdect ( is that a technical term? Interdict perhaps) anyways presumably refer to the surface what you are getting at?) THEN…..you can dimension to measure between line and point. Couldn't be simpler, really.
Basically I appreciate the second question is complicated and hijacked it, the basic question is if you extrude a cylinder? Hopefully simple and easy way.
This was from 8 years ago, but I'm guessing I meant to say is that from within the sketch you can utilize the Use or Intersect commands. Still not sure what the desired measurement is.
