How to use circular pattern?

Is there a way to make a copy of the thread?
Currently, I want to make 3 screw threads on the cylinder.
However, after clicking the circular pattern, it requires to select the entities.
Instead of selecting only the threads, the whole item is selected and cause the whole part to be copyed.

    Yes indeed, change the "Part Pattern" drop down option to face pattern.
