Import Multi Part STL into Parts Studio

Importing an stl with multiple parts results in a parts studio with multiple unmated parts. How can I import the complete model into an existing parts studio so I can work with it as a single component. i.e. I Want to position the imported "assembly" and model holes in my existing parts in relation to parts in the imported stl.

You can import it as a cloud of points that you can use as references.Much better it to import solids such as parasolid or step files. These can be imported as actual parts. If you select the flatten option you can import them all into one partstudio, and then create an assembly with all the parts in the same relative positions as the source file. They can also be edited.Hope that helps,Owen S.Business Systems and Configuration Controller
