How to simulate gravity for a one way gear in part assembly?

I'm constructing mechanism which will only allow the gear to rotate one way. The idea is very simple, using a pin and a one way gear so that the pin will prevent the gear from turning backwards. However, how to simulate the action that the pin will fall between each tooth of the gear?

It will certainly handle the actual physical behavior of the mechanism with gravity, fiction, reaction forces etc. that is one option.
