Split part with faces

Hi all,
sorry for a stupid question, but can You please help me with splitting the pot with three 120 degree faces? I can´t find out how to. I think the problem is, that i don´t have joined the faces, but I can´t do that.

Your splits do not work because you are not actually splitting anything, you are trying to cut. For the split to work it needs to actually split the part in 2.
See this example for a way that you could work around this and make split work.

If it's rotationally symmetric, just extend and boolean two of the surfaces and cut the part in two and discard the big piece.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA0

Hey Jan. I took a look at your document. I expected the split that you are trying to achieve to work. It works with one of the flat surfaces but not a dovetail surface. Section view shows a problem at the separation of the pot's top and bottom. I'm curious about that. Hope someone else chimes in. - Scotty

Here is a solution. I had perform the first split with a plane, then the dovetail surfaces worked. It's a bit weird that it wouldn't do the spilt to start with though.
I'm sure someone will come back with a reason but for now have a look at this

But I did it with thicken and remove function already.

I made the dovetail surface a part with a thickness of .001". Boolean Remove works. - Scotty
