Version Creation Through API

I'm trying to automate version creation through the API, and have tried using POST /documents/d/{did}/versions through both my Python script and the Glassworks API explorer. Every time I try to make the post through either version it returns a 400 Bad Request. Is there something specific I need to make sure I'm doing to do this correctly?
