replace multiple faces with multiple faces.

Are there any replace to multiple faces custom features, or extend to a container type thing? Think of a spiral stair, rising inside a square tower, and the treads and risers need to extend to the extents of the bounding walls. I have had this type of problem a couple of times in a range of situations, and resorted to oversizing and Boolean>remove, or over sizing and splitting parts and removing one side.  But when the design is parametric, and parts are added or fall in differnt positions, this falls over.
I'm sure I'm missing a simple trick.... maybe a tool I don't use much, like replace face, only more powerful.
Thanks

Despite the dialog asking for a "Surface to replace with", you can only select a single face. This is indeed annoying.

You can extrude up to a part, which can be a surface (as in something with multiple faces), but unlike replace face, it won't extend the surface if it doesn't quite cover the extrude.

Splitting a part with a surface is probably your best bet, or boolean subtract with a solid part.

Maybe you can share a public example document of something that you're trying to do and I'm sure there will be a bunch of different solutions.

Just ran into this problem this past week. It's less than ideal to have to find workarounds for this.
