Oval/Polygon Pattern?

I have an oval-like shape (12-sided polygon) that I would love to pattern a feature onto each face. If it was a regular polygon, I could just use circular, but in this case, it is "squashed" so it doesn't apply as easily. I have tried to make equivalent circle sketches between faces and do multiple circular patterns and mirror them around but it seems very cluttered. I expected the FeatureScript Point Pattern to be able to take this, but it doesn't do the various angles well (it retains only the orientation of the original feature). Any advice on how to accomplish something like this or do I just need to copy and paste a sketch around a bunch?

Which lets you apply a feature based on a reference MC and several target MCs.
You would only need to place the MCs before hand, which can be reasonable to do it by hand (is there a custom feature to create multiple MCs at once?)0
