CAM Studio Version 1.183.945.125a84d
Thank you all for your patience, our team has been hard at work making a lot of changes on the back end and we're very close to the point of being able to start releasing more regular updates to CAM Studio.
As always, with Beta releases and EVP there are going to be changes coming that will result in loss of CAM data. Please be aware of this and we will endeavor to highlight those breaking changes when we release them.
Workspace Units
When creating CAM Studio projects, the units will now respect document workspace units.
Job elements name change
When inserting a job element to CAM Studio the names for some of the elements have changed. “Machining” is now “Part.” “Avoidance” is now “Work Holding”
Work holding “vise or fixture” in simulation
Work holding can now be seen in simulation.
Machine mating
Users can now adjust the placement of job elements on the machine table for simulation by adjusting the machine mating position from the setup.
Simulating and verifying all operations
Users can now simulate or verify all operations from the setup in order
Drilling updates
Validation of parameters has been improved to make the user experience better, including link types, custom feeds, pecking parameters.
NC Output follows post-processor settings (“Fixed Cycles”), allowing user selection of longhand or canned output types.
Post settings - Additions and updates
Users now have additional posting options.
Fixed Cycles
- Drilling canned cycles
- Peck Drilling canned cycles
- Thread Tapping canned cycles
- Output arcs
- Arcs in XY plane
- Arcs in XZ plane
- Arcs in YZ plane
- Output helices
Machines and Posts
- 3-Axis Generic Milling - APT CL post Configuration 3ax
- Haas DT-1 pre-NGC Configuration 3ax
- Haas UMC-1000 NGC Configuration 5ax
- ShopBot Desktop MAX SB3 Configuration 3ax
Force tool change
The addition of force tool change allows the user to force the output for a tool change and adjacent blocks. This option is in each tool path operation in the Posting section.
Tool Libraries and Assembly numbers
The tool library has been updated. Users can now edit the tool assembly number without having to create a new tool.
Components view
A components view has been added to allow users to hide or show job elements that have been added to the CAM Studio tab.
General updates
Extensive back-end code refactoring to improve caching, stabilize the product, and prepare for additional new functionality in future releases
Please remember that all EVP functionality, news, screenshots, etc. are covered under your NDA and are not to be shared or discussed outside of this EVP forum.
Comments
One thing that would be nice is if the width of the window on the left was adjustable by dragging.
