New FS: Extract Flat - creates solid body of a Sheet Metal Flat

Hard to believe this didn't exist as a native tool (maybe it does?)
link: Extract Flat
How can I get the name of the original selected body to use in the name of the new body?

@joshtargo cool feature! It did jog my memory though and there's already a custom feature doing this. Keep it up though. I've been loving seeing your new features coming through. Cool stuff.
As for setting the name to match another part I don't believe it's possible since the name is a part property and the part properties are calculated after feature regeneration when the model rebuilds so they don't exist for your feature code to access.
@EvanReese In all fairness, even I forgot about that feature…and I wrote it.
I need to go back and find all my old features and add them to fs.place. fs.place is supposed to make it easier to find feature, but its flaw is that they need to be added.
You can pull properties like name with getProperty, but only during editing logic. Which means that if you do use it, you won't have a truly parametric model (upstream name changes won't reflect in your feature until you trigger an edit), but that could be fine in many cases.

😭theirs is so much simpler than mine
but thank you!
did you try the Statics Solver?
I think that would be ok if it's just to come up with the initial name, but we both have a working feature already, the name isn't a biggie. but thanks.
@Caden_Armstrong hahaha!
@joshtargo Don't feel bad. Caden is a code monster. I've not tried statics solver yet. TBH I'm not sure what to do with it. I've skimmed through the post, but I'm trained as an industrial designer so I've never done statics stuff like that and it's not familiar to me. Any chance you'd make a loom tour of it or something?
@EvanReese I'm not usually one for making video tutorials, but I could try….
Up to you. Most likely I just need to go down my own self-learning on statics and it'll all make sense.
