Request: sketches should be usable as planes

Feature request: Sketches should be usable as planes in operations requiring them. In this case, the sketch can yield the same plane that it's currently aligned on.
Some examples:
- Creating another sketch requires an initial plane. With this feature, you can "borrow" the plane from an existing sketch.
Why use multiple sketches? — so you can separate out different features/granularity/areas of concern in the design
What's the benefit? — if you need to realign the sketches in the future, you only need to update 1 reference and the remaining sketches will remain aligned.
2. You can start a sketch directly based on e.g., a mate connector. If you then wanted to split along that same connector, you would need to create an intermediate plane with 0 offset to the sketch, which seems more like boilerplate than something meaningful in itself.

That can be done with the mate connecter in sketch dialog. In this example sketch 2 uses sketch 1 location. No extra plane required.
Like @glen_dewsbury said, you can do this using mate connector referencing geometry on your first sketch.
Also, if your sketch has any closed region, you can in fact pick that as your sketch plane:
I see, thanks for the tips. I was aware of selecting closed regions, but mate connector trick makes it usable for construction lines, which is nice.
