Trying to round / fillet

I have probably gone the wrong way about this,. but how can I get and interna; curve as shown in red, and preferably so I can put round edges on it, fillet tool keeps giving me errors.

    You can delete that inner face with the heal option. That will give you a single edge so that you can fillet it.

    I had started to do physically (as shown here), but 3D printing will be easier (once I complete the modelling).

    Out of curiosity, thought I'd try the full round since have only used on outside fillets before. Works OK.
