Filling the space between two curved surfaces

I have a student who is trying to fill the space between the threads and the tapered surface in this model and then continue the threads to the end of the "screw" in a loft so that it comes to a point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try delete or replace face

Create the thread on the centerline rather than on the shaft surface. That'd eliminate the issue right from the beginning.
