How to cut a big part into printable smaller parts

roman_rennhoferroman_rennhofer Member Posts: 6

Hi,

so I have this "frame" (1230mm x 1085mm), which is way to big to be 3D printed at once. What is the best way to cut it in printable parts with some kind of dovetails to assamble it later on?

Thanks a lot for your help!

You can put in a sketch of where you want joints and the shape of them via a single chain of lines for each joint. then extrude a thin remove to give some tolerance. then pattern the feature as needed.

    Thanks for your reply!

But this feature already needs more than one part, right? Or am I doing something wrong?
