Flatten eliptic arc based object

jan_vránajan_vrána Member Posts: 5

Dear colleague, is there any hint-workaround for creating a flattable "something" of the attached object such that it could be finally cut on a laser cutter? All my attempts (extruding solids, thickening surfaces, extruding/thickening metal sheets) failed so far.

I tried to insert a link to my document but it says that the robot can't get access to that. So only a screenshot:

it is a cross section of eliptical arc (top plane) and a face between 2 Bezier curves (front plane).

many thanks Vranoch

If the robot can't access your link, you've probably not made the doc public. it will help a lot if you do.

    Have you tried "flatten"?

I tried my best to make it public … but still the same message that the robot cannot access the link …

and the link at least in text form

I tried the Flatten under Analysis tools but it only shows the flattened state without "persisting" it - allowing to make a drawing of it and exporting it to the cutter. Or am I missing the functionality of this tool?

I can open the part this way (not copy it)

The best way to have it persist is to export it and import it again. it's a work-around, but at least there's a way… i guess you figured this out looking at your other tabs…
