Loft Error - Cannot use faces or regions with inner loops as profiles.

Newbie here so apologies in advance if I'm doing something dumb…
I'm trying what I thought was a simple loft between two sketches. One is a copy of the other in an offset plain just a little bit smaller, so I'd like the faces to connect to each other to make sloping walls. This is designed to fit the seat back of my car to eventually become a mount.
The loft is complaining about "inner loops" but I need curved surfaces. What am I doing wrong?

For reference only, I'd like it to look like the image below (I just created a simple extrude for illustration purposes) but end the loft lined up with the other face.

As the title of your post says, you cannot use faces or regions with inner loops as profiles. A thin loft work work pretty well in this case. Or make a solid with the outer loops then a remove with the inner loops.

What Matt says. Except with flanges I think you're looking for.

Thanks! I literally just figured that out myself as well, the thin loft option works well. I'm getting there!
