Got a Problem with the new SM Formtool combined with a champfer

Axel_KollmenterAxel_Kollmenter Member Posts: 425 PRO

I have a problem with the new form tool and a chamfer that I added to the sheet metal part afterwards. Since I can't add the chamfer to an active sheet metal part as it is, I added the chamfer after the “Finish sheet metal model” feature. The chamfer should be 1mm, the sheet metal part is also 1mm thick. Basically this works, but not after I use the form feature... what could be the reason for this, how can I solve the problem? The form tool is set up exactly as specified and works on its own without any problems.

If I edit the Champfer from 1mm to 0,99mm it works fine…

Is the thickness of the sheet 1mm?
Maybe this is the problem, because when you add the 1mm chamfer you basicly delete the cylindrical face of the sheetmetal. If you make it 0.999mm, it should also work because you only add the chamfer without removing faces.

Can the chamfer be added to you form tool?

    Good morning @sebastian_glanzner,
yes, the sheet metal is also 1mm thick. that will be pretty much the reason. The forming tool has nothing directly to do with the contour and the chamfer. The tool is outside the screenshot.
