Point Pattern, set orientation for each?

NAENAE Member Posts: 7 ✭✭
I'm using @cody_armstrong 's Point Pattern FS quite a bit. Very nice!!

Some of my patterns would benefit from being able to set the orientation of each thing patterned and I would like to add that functionality to a copy of "Point Pattern".
Something simple and click-able like the "reorient" like when placing Mate Connectors:

I can't find a reference to "reorient" anything. Anyone know how this would be accomplished?

I believe currently our Mate Connector feature is special, and that button isn't a generic utility available to all custom features. I agree that it would be great functionality to have generically. Consider that to be on our TODO list.

For now I think the best choice is to make a four-state enum parameter for rotating 0º, 90º, 180º, and 270º.

Has this been implemented? I would love to use it :-)

If it's too complicated, a simplified version that may address many use-cases is to specify a surface that the features/parts should be normal to. When you select the reference point, you would also select a reference surface that the reference points sits on.

No but there is a custom featurescript called Transform Pattern which can reorient the pattern.
